Today I am working on some edits for my current WIP. I have come across a section that required me to look up a map to make sure that I was getting some details correct. Even though I have written this story and am only doing edits, I still do some research to ensure that the descriptions of how to get some where are accurate. Writing and editing do require a never ending amount of research.
I found a very cool map of historical sites. The map shows some of the historical sites at Devil's Lake that I use in my book. The cool think about this map is I can now find the exact locations of some of the cottages and hotels that were at the lake. My older research doesn't give this map and of course I bookmarked it so I can refer to it even more as I go along.
I share this map with you because if you love Devil's Lake as much as I do, it will help put in perspective of another time where life was so very different at the lake as opposed to now. This is also the push I needed to get my book done and hopefully off to the editor for another review and perhaps it will be closer to publication. I have a few people on a list that will receive copies before the rest of the country.
Enjoy the post and the map! And if you haven't visited Devil's Lake State Park in Baraboo, WI; well what are you waiting for?
