Adventure with four teen girls. Much of the scenery in this book is based on Devils Lake State Park, Baraboo, WI.
The beginning of this story begins with many summer days spent with my lovely daughter, Lauren and her friends. We enjoy the South Shore the best and frequent as often as we can. With Devils Lake State Park in Baraboo, WI having celebrated its 100 years in 2011, I felt the sudden urge that perhaps an adventure book should be written.
I spent many days re-hiking the trails I have hiked most of my life, but this time with purpose; to envision where those hotels must have stood all those years ago, where that resort was to be built atop the West bluff all the while driving my family crazy to want to see this. My youngest son, Dakota played a great part in this adventure of mine. He enjoyed hiking with me. I think partly because he likes to be doing things all the time, but yet I think in some small way, he was piqued with as much interest as I was.
You learn much about yourself on a task such as this. If you need the opportunity to learn about yourself, take a trip to Devils Lake and let those spirits guide you. Nature is a great way to feel one with oneself.
