Rin is 4’11” with long brown hair and blue eyes. Rin is tailored after the author who comes from a family of seven; five children and two parents. Rin is the middle child of the family and the one who seems to be invisible most of the time to everyone. Her escape is Devil’s Lake and loves to share its quiet and beauty with just about everyone she can. She works at the Chateau on the North Shore in the snack bar with co-worker Kip.
Rin prefers to be away from home as much as she possibly can otherwise she stays in her room. So, hiking at the lake and working tend to keep her busy during the summer. Rin feels invisible to her family throughout the book, but finds near the end that perhaps she had been missed.
There’s a little bit about Rin. There is more about her family in the book than is provided here but that is just to keep you guessing. Growing up, I found it difficult to even want to be home most of the time especially early mornings and weekends. As a teenager, that was easier said than done to just escape. I didn’t really work at the lake growing up but rather worked in the restaurant business. Kip, the co-worker was tailored after another classmate of mine who I have not spoken of in years! I hope to see him one of these times at a class reunion.
